“You’ve come a long way, Baby!”

Youve come a long way Baby

This is a shot of New York in 1887.  What you see are electrical wires – and just electrical wires. If you are under 40, before you die you may very well see New York as a city with no overhead electrical wires at all. In a generation, our power grid will be solar via satellite. Every house will be wifi and those pesky computer/printer wires under your desk will be as gone as the dodo. But the problems we will still have will be recycling the water we have, the garbage we are producing and the air we have to breath.

Steve Levi is an Alaskan writer who specializes in the Alaska Gold Rush (nonfiction) and the ‘impossible crime,’ (fiction.)  An ‘impossible crime’ is one where the detective must figure out HOW the crime was committed before going after the perpetrators – like a Greyhound bus with bank robbers and hostages disappearing off the Golden Gate Bridge –THE MATTER OF THE VANISHING GREYHOUND.
