“Where did ‘letting the cat out of the bag’ get its start?”

The middle of the 1700s, farmers would put young pigs in a burlap ‘bag’ to carry them to market. Often, they were sold that way.  And often, many a buyer found that the pigs in the bag were cats. This led to the expression that ‘letting the cat out of the bag’ meant to reveal a hidden truth.  In the case of the buyer, that the pigs he thought he was buying were, in fact, cats.

Tired of making those mortgage payments every month?

If you are willing to take a chance, here’s an option!

As the expression goes, right now, “It’s not illegal.”
