Whatever you do, there will be critics. And the further forward you think, the more ferocious the opposition. That’s life. But you should use that reality to your advantage. There is no skyrocket to success with the same old/same old.  As an example, my motto as a writer is simple: “If you do not have something unique you have nothing.” This is true in every industry.  NEW is not viewed as GOOD but as something to fight. People looking for the unusual are blessed in this generation because of the internet. They can find the ‘unusual’ from the comfort of their own home. And they are not stuck with the same old/same old. There is a world of ‘different’ out there.  GO EXPLORING! https://www.authormasterminds.com/steve-levi
