“Talk about GREAT ‘Balls of Fire!’”

In 1958, while on tour with Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly and The Chantels, the promoter wanted Berry to close the show. Jerry Lee Lewis thought he should close the show. The promoter said “No” so when Lewis finished his performance – as the second to last act – he set his piano on fire.  The event is immortalized in the movie GREAT BALLS OF FIRE starring Dennis Quaid – and confirmed by Lewis.
