Just another old photo, eh?  Well, old photos hide stunning truths. This is my mother’s mother’s uncle. His name was Cabot Jackson Russel and he was one of the white officers leading the black regiment, the 54th Massachusetts Infantry, during the Civil War.  He was killed in the Battle of Fort Wagner but ‘brought back to life’ in the movie GLORY.  We ARE NOT a nation divided by race, religion, country of origin or point of view. We ARE a nation BECAUSE of our blend of race, religion, country of origin and point of view. We are not locked into the prejudices of the past. We are forward-looking and for this reason the best innovative products in the world come from the fertile soil of our unique, ever-changing population melting pot.
