“Home Sweet Home?”

If you don’t live in Alaska, this is just a ‘quaint’ picture from the past. If you do live in Alaska, you know July is one of the best months of the year. There is an old Alaskan saying that the Alaskan calendar only has three months, and they all start with the letter “J.”  For the eight months of winter, someone was living in this sod covered ‘home.’ But the good news was there would be no mud on these ‘city’ streets. Today, Anchorage is a city of 300,000 – with no sod-covered homes, and paved streets!
