“those people”

One of the easiest thing to do is talk about how “those people” are so different from “us” that we do not have to be concerned about their rights. Afterall, “we” are the ones who gave “them” the rights they have. First, there are no “those people” in the United States. “Those people” are us. Second, only ten percent of all people of all sexes, races and religions will move human culture forward. These are the “talented tenth” and they can be anywhere. Even on the icy, wind whipped shore of the Bering Sea a generation ago. Every time you disparage an individual because he or she is “not like me” you are denying yourself a business, cultural, educational and social opportunity that just might make you a richer fuller better educated individual with a cornucopia of possibilities.
