Beware of old adages ….

Adage?  What’s an adage?  An adage is a proverb expressing a generally accepted truth. Like, “the shortest distance between two points is a straight line.”  Actually, that adage is not true. Here’s proof. This is a crinkle line near Suffolk, England.  It uses fewer bricks than a straight wall.  So, the next time someone says, “Well, everyone knows,…” be careful believing what ‘everyone knows.’
